Erin Humphry

is a Toronto-based actor, community organizer, and creative. She has worked with companies such as Coal Mine Theatre, 4th Line Theatre, and Riot King Theatre, and directors such as David Ferry, Bryn Kennedy, and Michael Reinhart. Erin was nominated for a My Theatre Award for Outstanding Ensemble for their work in Breathing Corpses with Coal Mine Theatre, and starred in the sold-out and critically-acclaimed run of the 2019 Fringe original Beneath the Bed. They are a graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts, and Second City’s Improv training program, a professional singer and dancer, and dabble in electric and acoustic guitar.

Erin is a long-time community organizer, and co-runs projects dedicated to liberation and learning with their organizing partner, Thomas McKecknie, and ACMJIS, a group that supports independent Toronto artists pursuing transformative political projects.

My focus as a creative is on slow, steady and disciplined processes, and how art and organizing interact. I especially gravitate towards projects that feel scary and challenging, for myself and the audience alike. How can art be a source of liberation and joy, and a vessel for transformation? What kind of world are we building, both as actors and people? How can we help it to change?
