RUNNING THE RISK

Started by organizing partners Thomas McKecknie and Erin Humphry in early 2025, Running the Risk is a group of anti-fascists in Toronto building community, endurance, and joy.

The group meets once every two weeks to train for upcoming races, rallys, and actions. In 2025 we ran in the Run for Palestine (raising over $2,200 for Islamic Relief), the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, and several of our well-loved and well-attended sticker runs, wherein we distribute bundles of stickers from local social justice organizations, and race through the city putting up as many as possible.

In the winter of 2025 going into 2026, we developed a Winter Running Guide to help build the group’s knowledge and endurance to run safely, even in less than ideal conditions.

As organizers, anti-fascists, and artists, we know that it’s important to build routines and discipline into our lives, which we have found to be much easier to do in community. So join our mailing list if you want to get in on the running and anti-fascist fun, and we will see you on the track!
